The Good Old Times

“When I was a kid, I used to swim with other kids in the river, we caught fish there and it was so clean that we just drink the water there.”

You may have heard of a few pieces of stories of good old times from grannies. People was nice. Environment was clean. Life was simple. Today, everything has changed to worse, hasn’t it?

Yes and no.

Yes, medical conditions have improved. Life expectancy is getting longer every year. Technology helped us to do various things we couldn’t imagine we could do before.

However, we are losing abilities to do some very basic tasks. For example, add all whole numbers from 1 to 100… wait… where is my calculator…? Punching in the calculator, it will take a good 10 minutes just to punch the numbers in, if you are lucky enough not to punch any key wrong. Verify the answer? Oh mine… It can simply be calculated within 10 seconds to know the answer is 5050. 1+100=101; 2+99=101… 49+52=101; 50+51=101. 50(101)=5050 That’s the answer. Why can’t we do that now?

Life is very convenient nowadays, but it could be very complicated if we use technology in the wrong way. You want to lose some weight, simple go outdoor to jog, to walk, instead, people spend a few hundred dollars to get a slimming belt, have weight lose diet… Time, money and attention has been spent unnecessarily while there is a very simple method to achieve the same goal. This blog is about to tell you to give up the complicated way but focus on simple, “old” way to achieve the same goal.

In the good old times, this is how it worked.
